Arnold Schwarzenegger Shares His Rules For Social Media And The Internet Loves It

Arnold Schwarzenegger has a message for internet skeptics and all those “didn’t happen” naysayers out there.

“Not believing anything you read is just as lazy and dumb as believing anything you read,” the Hollywood actor said on Reddit after a spat about a Terminator pipe broke out—bear with us.

A Schwarzenegger fan honored his idol this week by carving a pipe into the likeness of the Terminator himself.

The 73-year-old action star found out about the one-of-a-kind piece on Reddit, where the artist under the username RadonLab posted a photo of it.

Schwarzenegger himself responded to the artist asking to buy the pipe, saying: “Wow. This is fantastic. It is beautiful. Would you sell this to me?”

Although the artist said it would be an “honor” to send the former Governor of California the pipe as a gift, Schwarzenegger insisted on sending him something for his trouble.

He wrote: “If you insist on giving it to me I insist on sending you back a signed photo of me using it. Now that it’s 2020 I just sign things on my machine and send an email if that works for you, adding, ‘You can send me a message and I’ll give you the details.”

Much to the delight of Reddit, the Total Recall actor was true to his word and posted a photo of him with the Terminator pipe. He signed the photo: “To Radon, Thank you for the great pipe! Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

However, a disagreement broke out after the artist was accused of faking the interaction and giving the actor the collectible, leading Schwarzenegger to intervene and criticize the skeptic and share his guide to the internet and skepticism in general.

“Let me chime in with my opinion on this since reddit is more cynical than me,” he wrote under the username GovSchwarzenegger.

“Some things, you can just enjoy. If you’re dealing with global politics or a life or death situation, get a second or third opinion and be skeptical. If someone posts a photo I sent them and people are enjoying it, absolutely do not call them a liar unless you have proof.”

Unsurprisingly, such a profound comment on the internet and how we enjoy it resonated with, well internet users.

The post was marked as “wholesome” on Reddit, with one commenting “wise words.”

One response reads: “Mr. Schwarzenegger you’re a blessing to this world.”

Another added: “I’m actually kinda glad they commented on your photo because we’ve had not one but two beautiful cases of you responding and calling them out. Also still so shocked big Arnie himself uses reddit, this is bloody mad! What a hero!”

Schwarzenegger’s response also gained some traction over on Twitter, where users are applauding his take on enjoying fun things on the internet free of skepticism.
